About Us

We, the Federation of Alevi Students, were founded in 2013 and constitute the student organisation of the Federation of Alevi Youth e.V. (BDAJ). As a supporting body of theBDAJ, it is committed to connecting Alevi students across Germany, representing their interests and providing them with a space for exchange, engagement and community. Above all, it aims to provide an opportunity for Alevi students who wish to gain a deeper understanding of the Alevi faith and the Alevi community.
BDAS has evolved from an initiative into an independent student organisation within a short space of time.
This makes us the umbrella organisation for 33 Alevi university groups across the whole of Germany. An estimated 4,000 Alevi students are enrolled at colleges and universities in Germany, of whom around 1,500 are members of the ‘BDAS’ through its university groups.

Democracy & Equality
Guided by Alevi values, we are committed to a secular, contemporary, humanist, solidarity-based, environmentally friendly and democratic society. We advocate for the right of students and prospective students to have a say in decision-making.
We strive to help shape life at universities and in the communities surrounding them. In particular, intercultural and interfaith dialogue (in Germany and Europe) and a scholarly foundation are central elements of our work.
We represent our members’ interests in matters relating to higher education policy and society.
We are committed to equality regardless of gender, background or religious affiliation; we seek to raise our members’ political and cultural awareness; and we support them in their studies and in their academic engagement with Alevism. We are all actively committed to combating sexism, nationalism, racism and homophobia.
